Made a bit of a booboo - booked a Travelodge room at Morecambe (new one, not open yet). After booking discovered it doesn't have any car park! You have to park in a public car park (one is Market Street). Does anyone know the area as I will be arriving late at night and don't fancy wandering the streets alone. Is it far from the Arndale Shopping Centre (where the Travelodge is). Is it a safe area for (a) people and (b) cars?

The only advice i can offer is to bypass Lancaster.
There's lots of car parks in that area. The travel lodge is really close to the Arndale. (although shopping centre is a VERY grand description!) I live fairly close to Morecambe and if i'm honest I wouldn't leave me or my car in Morecambe overnight.
Morecambe will never be the same without Wise!

Does Morecambe have an Arndale center! I know Manchester does. I know when I went there I couldn't find a KFC anywhere but that was a good few years ago. They have tried to do it up a bit since then though. They put a Morrisons on the prom near the railway station and the old Burger king that I think as also gone.

Er - ok thanks. I think!
What's the problem with Lancaster? It's a fantastic old City. I personally find it just as easy to get off the M6 at junction 33 and travel through Lancaster to Morecambe as coming off at junction 34. It might be different when they build the by-pass.
remember to take your buckets and spades - you need the buckets ain that you will get.....

wellies for the quicksand too
you need the buckets for all the rain that you will get.....
A map of car parks here, Pedder Street looks to be nearest to the new Travelodge on Euston Road.

Should come to sunny Morecambe. We stand our dead in the bus shelters. Everybody turns out on a Wednesday afternoon to see the traffic lights change colour.........
