Its really effing me off. Every now and then, when I go to click on something the blue twirly thing on the tab goes round and round for ages and the page does not load. I then try to click on refresh which also doesn't work so I sit here for a about half a minute waiting for something to happen and it doesn't. Then when I go to click anywhere on the page the screen goes a white colour but I can see stuff underneath it. At the top in the black bit it says "(not responding)".

Any ideas before I kick it?

Clean out all temp folders/files and cache .. Reload browser.
For a start. Internet/connection traffic is another possibility (especially if wireless link)

I've tried rebooting several times but nothing works.
It happens to me sometimes when I've been trying to do too much, too quickly - the computer gets confused.

Which browser are you using? If it's Internet Explorer, please hang on for a moment while we all fall about laughing. Then download, install and use Firefox:

If you're already using Firefox, and experiencing problems with it, simply do an 'on top' reinstallation of the program. (i.e. don't uninstall it first). That usually fixes any problems.

Maybe its because I've got more than one tab open.
Have you got anything going on in the background, eg windows downloads or virus scanning or updating?
try switching you internet off and on.

Sorry, my only suggestion is swearing at it - won't work but it'll make you feel better.
So am I, but some people think we are dinosaurs. I like IE, it does (usually) what I want it to.

hehe, I actually did lol at that.
It happens to me but I KNOW I have a dodgy connection cos the switch for wireless is a bit iffy and sometimes it struggles. Only noticed it since the switch started to go.
"Er.... I'm using Internet Explorer???"

Switch to Firefox: http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

Its just bloody well done it again. aarrrgggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, sadly I am using IE Chris although I do have Firefox on my desktop. I don't really like the firefox pages though. I like to have my favourites where I can see them on the left.

I don't have a problem with Firefox - all my favourites are under Bookmarks, accessible with one click of the mouse. I would never go back to IE - Firefox is so much quicker and you don't get pop-up boxes saying error half the time.

Maybe I'm going to have to bite my lip and go onto firefox.
