thanks docspock it goes from 0 to 10%,so cant be too bad,thanks again.

It depends what you are doing on it. Even then the idle consumption can vary a lot. 100% is ok if you are rendering a dvd or video. Mine stays at 100% for 2 hours or more sometimes. Normal.
It's the individual processes you should be interested in .. and what is abnormal. This can indicate problems or infected files or apps.
