chuck i want to move my pc into another part of the house so yesterday did a dummy run and could not get on the internet at all, i only have one phone socket which i use for my pc and phone and have an extension wire going round the rooms to where i want to put the pc(thats where my phone is) its about 10 meters away from where my pc is now any ideas around this problem.i have an echolife hg520b router which is wired to my pc!

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are saying.
Did you move the router and plug it into the extension socket? if you did then you have to make sure the master socket end of the extension is NOT plugged into a ADSL filter. plug the extension lead direct into the main phone socket and Put the filter on the far end of the extension lead.
