Any ideas? I have an avi file which is quite big- 4 million KB - a 20 min long video. I want to burn it to a disc so I can make it portable. I don't know how to do it. I use Windows XP and have Nero but not sure how it works...

In Nero go to "Create Data Disc" Choose the file you want to burn to disc. Then burn it.However if you have Roxio use it instead, the same way. I find it better and I use XP also.

Hi! I am using Nero 7 ultra edition... and I can't work out what to do. If you have the same one I'd be really grateful if you could tell me exactly what to click on, as I have no clue, I'm afraid!!
When you say you want to "make it portable" do you mean so that you can play it on other computers, or on a DVD player?

In either case, first click Start?programs/Nero 7/Nero StartSmart

If you want to play it only on other computers, select Data from the top line, then Make a Data DVD from below. Drag the AVI file into the main window, then click Burn

If you want to play it on a DVD player, select Photo and Video from the top menu, then Make your own DVD-Video from below. Choose Add Video Files, select your AVI and open it. Click next, next, next, burn
Playing the avi on another computer might not work. Avi files need additional data called a "codec". Most computers already have a lot of codecs but sometimes additional ones need to be downloaded.

To make sure the avi will definately play, download and install the freeware media player called vlc media player on your other computer. It plays all video files without the need to download codecs.
