Toddler and Tiara Pageants. Children as young as 3 years old made to dress like tarts and prance around on stage by their pathetic excuse for parents. What parent in their right mind would make their child do this?

The history of showbusiness is littered with such people. Fortunately most parents have more sense. I always wanted to be the next Cliff Richard but my mother would't let me on the grounds that a) I was ugly and b) I couldn't sing.

I saw a documentary aout this a couple of years ago. The mothers were making a big deal of saying that the little girls enjoyed it.
My niece is 6 and is totally pink and girly - but to her dressing up is still a game (as it should be) and I can't imagine her parents inflicting such a 'hobby' on her.
These little girls are dragged around the country acting old before their time. They are preened and beautified to the point of looking like little Barbie dolls.
We are only children for such a small part of our life - it should be a time of enjoyment.
