Google images has recently changed to use infinite scrolling i.e you don't just get page 1 you get page 2,3... loaded as well.

But currently I would like to go back to only having one page of images loaded at a time so that I can have a good look at them and then decide if I want to see some more, without this being done automatically and possibly unnecessarily (once I've found the image I want then further pages are definitely unnecessary).

At first glance I can't see an option to go back to the old style - is there such an option?

I've just done a quick Google Image search and still have 'pages' rather than infinite scrolling...
Search settings in the top right corner of the google page and set the maximum results per page to something lower (default is 10)

But that number of results setting is a drop down box with fixed values, the lowest being 10.

have now found a way to revert to the old style by adding some lines to user.js
