Hi, I hope some of you computer literate people that helped me before are still out there. Last time my son shut down the computer I'm not sure what he did but now, every time I go into Word, I get the last document he typed instead of a blank document and we cant get rid of it. Please please please can anyone hlp me?

A blank Word document is created using the Normal.dot template.  It sounds like your son may have accidentally saved his changes to the template, which means every time you try to fire up a new doc, it contains what he saved.

You need to find your Normal.dot (located in C:\Documents and Settings\<PC Username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates). When you have found it, open it by right-clicking on the icon - do not double-click!!).  Once open, hopefully you'll see all your son's work again. Delete all text and click on the Save button, then close.

After that, click on the New Blank Document button in Word, to see if it has worked.  If you are still getting the same problem, write back and we shall try plan B.

Also, if you cannot locate the Normal.dot template, you will have to set your folder options in Windows to show hidden files.
