Mobile phone numbers

Somebody told me that you cannot dial a 0800 number from a mobile is this correct
and if it is what number do you use instead ?

You can, but it's not free though, you still get charged

As the first person who answered said, you can, but they'll charge you. You get a message first, asking if you're okay with paying.
I've wondered about going to the nearest call box and putting in a coin.

Thanks for your answers, I am not worried about paying just as long as you can dial
the number.
