Is anyone else unable to update this programme?I have not been able to do so for several days.Process starts but download speed gets into single figure bytes/sec and eventually times out.Not having any other connection problems,just AVG

Having used AVG Free in the past I have now opted for Microsoft Security Essentilas which is far better and Free. Comodo is also very good as an alternative and also Free.

I find MSE excellent EDDIE51 and its the only programme I use. I have Malwarebytes also just for running a quick scan as backup.
Hi guys - i've got MSE as well .

One thing bothers me though and that is I cant see anywhere where it tells you what date/time the last scan was actually carried out .

If I am around i can see it scanning at the appointed time . ( mine is set to scan daily at 2000 hrs )

However when i'm not around I would like to check later, to confirm that the scan was indeed carried out .
There doesn't seem to be anywhere where this can be checked .

I've got four sections , headed - Home - Update - History - Settings

Am i missing a section - does your MSE gives the information i'm looking for ?
Mine is exactly the same BertiWooster. As far as I can tell it does not tell you when last scan was carried out. When the Scan takes place the icon in notification Tray shows that a Scan is taking place.
When installing AVG version 9 and above, did you select to index immediately? If you did not, you will need to leave your computer alone while AVG does an initial index. This took mine around 2 hours. After the indexing has finished, everything is fine.

Sorry to be late in thanking you all,haven't had chance to log on till just now.The problem has resolved itself without my taking any action(other than the passage of time) Will take a look at your suggestions.Thanks
I cant find any link at all to download v9 when i go into update latest version.....
