I recently made a web site for a friend of mine that has a small business, my question is how can
I get it listed on search engines without having to pay a fee ? I was looking at one site that stated
''We guarantee to get your site listed in the top 5 positions on all major search engines or your cash back'' Only £xxxxx so how can they do this ?

You can register the url of your website with Google. Make sure your meta tags are set correctly in the html code.
