LAPTOP keyboard problem

i am having problems with the JK & L buttons on my laptop.
the numbers 1,2 &3 appear instead, which are also on the same keys.
its probably something simple!

press the button marked num lock (you may have to hold down the FN key at same time)

If you are using a laptop then something like Fn + F11 toggles on/off part of the keyboard being used as numeric keypad.
