I have been using Audacity to convert my old cassette tapes onto the hard drive. These have been saved in the WAV format,The intention was to burn to CD using Nero but as far as I can tell it doesn't recognise WAV,only MP3 and WMA (I know that it used to) Is there any difference to burn to CD if I use MP3? Could anyone recommend a free CD burn prog. please. Thanks!!

Nero does support .wav, but if there's a problem with your version, then you can easily overcome it by using .mp3 at 320Kbps or near enough. You will hardly notice the difference anyway,as the original signal was analogue!

Thanks PP1 I'll try that in future.I have over come it (I think)Normally I would have recorded to audio Cd which Nero appears not to support but I tried data Cd and it worked ok I don't know whether that would have affected the quality but as you say it's only analogue. Thanks for your reply!!
