Playing AVI,WAV, etc on mac

Although I have quicktime player V 7.1.3, which plays MPEGS / MP3 just fine, I can't play AVI, WAV or WMV files on my Mac (OS-X) . Is there something I can easily download and install for FREE which will let me play any format I like in quicktime player on my Mac? Cheers!

Try google for VLC player

Should have read the queston right.
To play WMV in QT google Flip4Mac. AVI is better played in VLC as shpuld WAV

WMV also plays in the latest version of VLC too. Best player all round. Has support for apple remote now too!
