I have run a memory test with the result that I have been advised to replace the "RAM". Is this something that I should be able to do myself by downloading a programme or something?
My pc currently packs in after about 10 minutes to dump memory, whatever that means.

the ram is a bit of hardware, so you may have problems downloading it!

Firstly what has told you to replace the RAM?

if the computer is crashing after about 10min I'd say it's more likely it's clogged up with dust and fluff and is overheating.
