I believe it has two ports: one for ds games and one port which is identical to the one in gba's so yes.

I have a DS and it only plays DS games and GBA games. If it was to play GB games it would need another prosessor!

NO! The Nintendo DS CANNOT play original game boy games or game boy color games! this is nothing to do with processors etc, the reason is, they will not physically fit into the game boy slot on the DS as it differs slightly from the GB, GBC, GBA and GBA SP slots!
