I have just opened up an attachment, only to find gobbledegook. The sender tells me it's probably because I don't have Powerpoint. I have tried looking to download Powerpoint from Google, but it doesn't seem to accomodate Windows XP, which is what I have. Can anyone throw any light on this please? Thank you.

try googling for powerpoint viewer/reader/player ...it should be there and download and then install and then open in the reader application..

nope. sorry Smudge for some reason AB seems to be editing the URL.  just copy & paste the hyperlink into your internet browser & then replace the stars bit(i.e. ********) with ********.

Alternatively

  • go to http://www.microsoft.com
  • then click on Downloads in the left hand menu.
  • when the next page comes up click on Office and Home Applications.
  • when the next page loads click on PowerPoint Viewer 2003 in the main window on the right.

Hope that helps.

aaaargh!  it's done it again.  Right last time.  The word that AB keeps editing is a combination of the two words Family and ID but with no spaces between the two words.
