Desktop or laptop?
If it's desktop, have you any spare slots? It's a very cheap and easy job if you have.
if it's a laptop it's probably even easier, just not quite as cheap.

either way you need a USB2.0 card, either a PCI one to go inside a desktop or a PCMCIA one to plug into the expansion slot on most laptops.

Many thanks to both barry1010 and ChuckFickens. I should be able to go forward now
you didn't actually answer desktop or laptop, if it's a laptop then make and model would help then we can point you towards the correct item.
chuck - if it's a lappy - what's the max transfer rate of pcmcia - I'm not sure it's that much faster than usb 1.1

cardbus yes - but not 1 or 2
max nic was 10 last time I looked ... but me books is at work - and my brain hurts
hmmm, yeah good point, 16bit PCMCIA has transfer rates of about 160 Mbits/sec, and USB2 is 480 Mbit/s

if it's a lappy and has a cardbus slot then it will be fine, cardbus runs at over 1000 Mbits/s (1035 if memory serves me correctly)

jayen, knowing what computer we are talking about here would really be a big help.
