Hi,

I was going to subscribe to one of those GPRS thingies that use a card that you pop into your laptop to access the internet anywhere at all. I live in Aberdeen/Glasgow and was worried that I may not get reception. Anyone know the best type? Is there a speed/cost tradeoff between types? I use it for web browsing, not downloading enormous files. Cheers!

Apparently Vodaphone has the best network coverage.
The 3G cards would be a better option if you have coverage (as j2buttonsw said, Vodafone are usually the best).  GPRS has better coverage over 3G, but is painfully slow (28.8k theoretical connection I think).  I'd have thought Glasgow would have good coverage for both 3G and GPRS.
I second OBonio. GPRS is fine for phones but on a laptop it just isn't worth it.  Go for 3G from Orange.
