Whilst playing movies like quicktime or intro films for games, my sound crackles like crazy making it unlistenable. It doesn't appear to be the volume control, and I've reloaded the most recent drivers. In-game music, DVD's etc. are all fine. HELP ME! IT'S DRIVING ME NUTS!

can you reload your soundblaster software it sounds like interference - check that you're only running one programme at once when the crackling occurs - otherwise i would contact soundblaster directly as i have never heard to this problem before.
If it is ONLY when you are using the CD-ROM (games for example)...you should play with your PCI Latency in your BIOS, I am WARNING you...this is NOT FOR NEWBIES. Of course, write down the ORIGINAL number. If you blow up your PC, this is not my problem. The PCI latency helps because the sound blaster card is sometimes "faster" than this latency setting.
