Worries on Security

I recently updated to the latest version of Firefox but find that when I am entering a secure site the little yellow padlock sign that used to appear no longer does. Can I get it back or is it still ok without ?

I'm also on the latest ver. The padlock appears down in the bottom right hand corner...
