I am thinking of upgrading to broadband. I am with Tiscali and note that some of you do no recommend this company. Last time I had to phone them it cost me 12.
My question is can broadband be wired rather than wireless?

Yes, you don't have to go wireless at all if you don't want to. In fact being wired is better in a lot of ways.
All Broadband is wired when it comes to your house.

If you just plug your PC or laptop into the phone socket with a wire then you have wired broadband.

To go wireless you have to buy a router, a wireless router of course.

If you dont bother to buy a router your broadband will be wired.
Some ISPs supply a combined modem/router so it is your choice whether you go wireless or not, without buying additional gubbins.

Thanks to all of you for taking time to reply. My main concern was the well documented health concerns with wireless products, coupled with my present state of health.
Reading it all in u-switch, I would only be a light user and it would seem that I would not gain much benefit other than being able to download avg and adobe etc updates quicker and the fact that it would free up the phone line. Think I may stick with what I have for now.
