Can an HD DVD be played on a multi region DVD player or do you need a special HD DVD Player?

If so as we have a HD TV will we receive a HD picture?

Thanks

No, a HD dvd won't play in a standard dvd player.

Even if it did you wouldn't get a hd picture. If you could, it would be totally pointless paying a lot more money for a hd player.
which region is HD?
you''ll get a hd picture only if you get a sky hd box and hefty subscription the same with virgin media but freestat after the install 70 purchase for the receiver will give you the few hd channels from itv / bbc personally i'm waiting for the freestat hd box (with hardrive) which is due out soon to record the hd progs
