my daughters phone was stolen, she took her sim out so that her friend could put her sim in and use it, now its been stolen with no sim in it. can it still be stopped etc.

Hi, the phone will be useless to the theif without a SIM. Unfortunately, unless the phone ends up in the hands of the police I don't think you will get it back.
without the sim the thief cant use it and charge to your daughters account so she will only have lost the phone, still unfortunate but not as costly as someone running up bills on her account.
The phone is not useless without a sim. You can buy a pay as you go sim card for a fiver and then the phone is usefull. I think what harleymoo is asking if the phone can be blocked. I would contact the provider to find out. I would be interested in finding out if it can still be blocked though.

The service provider can block the phone as every phone has an IMEI number.

However there is the know how out there to change the IMEI number.

Contact the service provider and get them to block the phone.
