Probably get quite a debate here Linda, i have just purchased a LCD one rather than a Plasma, heard better things about LCD!!!
I did a lot of research (cos I'm sad!) before I bought my new tv and opted for LCD - mainly based on the fact that the picture quality is better and they last a lot longer.

I got a Sony Bravia 32" HD Ready Digital LCD TV and it's fab. Bought it about 6 mths ago and I love it. Top tip someone told me is to go into the store and tell them you've seen it 100 cheaper on the internet. I did this, got 100 off and they threw in the glass stand for free! Ps this was Curry's!
best option is to look in the magazines at your local supermarket - what hi-fi ...whatever
last time i looked there were reviews on just about every set available
can i ask u what u paid for ure telly
wotsit is on the right lines
almost every outlet runs a price match (some aren't so obvious though)
HOWEVER they also have access to google ... so you need to be accurate and honest as they'll only match today's price and if you underestimate - they'll over charge
if you eggagerate ... they'll tell you to go buy it from the other site ... or accept .....

I recently got 78 off the store price of a sony hdd/dvd recorder.

btw - my telly is a 32" toshiba (at the time it got 5 stars (it still gets good reviews) 410 including the stand (saving about 90)
Yes indeed Adam, Panasonic LCD is really exellent. I`ve had mine for 18mths now and am very pleased with it.

Bang & Olufsen are the best make of TV's in my opinion. You buy one, and 15-20 years later, you've STILL got it.
LCD or plasma? Think the choice is yours really.
B+O do make good televisions but the focus on design hype makes them rather pricey. And planning the use of any piece of electronics kit for more than about 8 years makes no sense at all because the technology inevitably moves forward.
Personally I think Panasonic and Sony LCDs are the best. Be aware that the 'Sony Bravia' covers a whole range of models with different suffixes (like S, W or X). They all have different qualities of electronic design inside them - you get what you pay for. Compare the picture qualities between models in Currys - then get onto the web.
