i have a desk top pc upstairs on cable and wireless (virgin ) broadband but am getting a laptop how do i connect my cable and wireless router to my modem so can go any wher in house with laptop ps do i have to connect my phone line to my router has phone line is downstairs and my modem is upstairs please help

Your laptop will be wifi enabled so should find the router and connect easily - assuming you have a router as you say.

You have to find a switch on your laptop in order to enable it to pick up the wireless network.
