Nearly all my e-mail messages are coming through with the little paperclip at the side of the message. I thought this indicated an attachment? But none of them have anything attached, does this mean I have a virus or have I accidently clicked on something by mistake?

Getting worried that there's something sinister attached to my outlook express, please help.

Thank you :o)

My anti-virus program attaches a paperclip and add a footnote to tell me the email has been scanned and is virus free.

Could yours be the same thing?

Hi Ethel! :o)

I have the AVG free edition scan my incoming e-mails and it has the stamp at the bottom of the page to say it has been scanned and I did think that you were on to something, but just checked the e-mail that told me you had replied and there is no paperclip on it, but it does have the AVG stamp still, so I don't think it could be that could it?
I'm not sure when this started but I only just noticed it yesterday and it has me worried about why it is doing it when there are no attachments.

Thank you for your reply :o)

Thanx john91!! It's worked!!!

You were right too Ethel as it says the paperclip can appear when there are HTML tags in the body of the e-mail, so that must be what it was doing.

One more question tho! Now I have checked the box "With attachments only" does this mean it only scans e-mails with attachments? as I still have the certify mail box checked so will that mean it is all still scanned?
I'm a tad confused!

Thank you again both :o)
