Hi gaz's girl :-) What aerial are you using on your upstairs tv ?
get one of those booster aerials they are a big help

i'm not sure it has an aerial, probably why i get such a bad pic! the tv was given to me.
i was looking at different aerials on ebay but they're all so different wasn't sure which one to go for? X
as bobtheduck says , a booster one with freeview pick up .
I have one in one of the bedrooms and it works well .
Not having one would certainly be the reason for your problem . lol :-) x

i guess it's the same as the tv downstairs, you just plug it into the aerial socket thing in the wall but i don't have one of those upstairs. but the tv itself never came with a portable aerial. X
you just plug one end of the aerial into the freeview box

i have a freeview box but when i set it up it just says no channels can be found! i take it this means i have no signal?? i'm really crap with anything technical! (can you tell! lol!) X
Don't worry sweetie . :-)
What you need apart from the actual freeview box is a scart lead , from box into back of tv.. Then , if you do not have an aerial wall socket in the bedroom , you need to buy a portable aerial to plug into the back of the freeview box.
The type of portable aerial will have to be a strong booster type that stipulates it will pick up freeview channels .
You can get one at most electrical stores or on line . :-)

thankyou bigmamma!! so if i get the right aerial then my freeview should work! yaay! you are a star, i'm sorry for being dense! if i can't just plug and play i get stuck! lol! X
Hope you get your freeview box to work but we moved house recently and discovered to our dismay that the area we moved to did not pick up the freeview signal.
Luckily we have cable in the bedroom but as for the lounge we got the same signal as you did. It was then a a neighbour told us this area does not receive freeview signals. I would check with the store that you bought it from as to whether you can get a signal at the moment. That is the reason they ask your address when you buy a freeview box.
Good Luck anyway.
thats ok dont mention it
