I've got orange wireless broadband, which has had its ups and downs, but overall is pretty good. My brother in law has just informed me, that wireless networking is bad for your health, has anyone else heard of this?

I believe it is safe in the home environment - but I am not a scientist:

Thanks for link Ethel :)
It's too low power to do any real damage. Some crackpots say these things, and if they were high-enough power, then it may well be true.

For example, the mobile phone masts are pretty powerful because they have to transmit and receive over a mile or two in radius. Your wireless router will be lucky to get to 30 feet in many cases.
Wireless networking technology in the home is considered low powered as the other post says.

However wireless networking on a large commercial scale where by companies link buildings together that are far away but have line of sight to each other use higher frequency ranges which are considered bad for you health if located to close. The antenna is located on roofs out of the way.
