My laptop wireless adaptor (6T04) as stopped working. When I look at the device controller this adaptor has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark against it. I assume this means that the driver for this has gone missing. Looking on the web, it appears that this is quite common when using Vista. But how do I get it back as without it I can't use my laptop and the wireless router.
I have found a "recovery disc" for the laptop (supplied when new). Does anyone know if I use this disc and it restores my hard drive to the original setting, will I loose all my software applications? In addition is safe to assume that this disc will have the information on it to restore the missing wireless network adaptor?

Connect your laptop using a cable, go to the manufacturer's site and download an updated driver.

If you restore from the disk, yes you'll put the machine back in its original factory condition - i.e. without any data, programs that have been subsequently installed, and any updates and patches.
