Emails from myself??

I keep getting emails and they appear to be coming from myself as they are using my address. How can I get rid of thenm or return them without getting a new mail address for myself. I cannot blacklist myself, and I dont know what else to do.

You have probably picked up a virus from somewhere. Do you have anti-virus software on your PC. I would recommend re-installing your OS including a format of the hard drive. If you do, make sure that you install your anti-virus software BEFORE you go anywhere near the internet.
hi there, I guess you are getting bounce backs from mail servers that are rejecting mail that appears to have come from you. This is a hideous reality of email life at the moment it appears. I suffered this really badly on one of my business accounts and infact had 300 in the space of an hour. The hijackers use a derivative of your email address perhaps [email protected] or [email protected]. Having got grumpy with my isp they have added some protection to my accounts that has prevented these. talk to your isp to see what they can do
It doesn't even have to be your PC that has picked up a virus.

It could be a friend's PC that has a virus, but since they have you e-mail address in their contacts book, the malware can pick up on it.

Your e-mail can then be 'spoofed', in that spam gets sent out as if it is being sent by you, (it appears to be sent from your address).

The messages you are getting are 'bounce-back' messages from people who have protected their PC's. It is recognised as spam and returned to the sender - which is deemed to be you.

There's not that much you can do really - but the bounce-back messages are not malicious in themselves, (ie do not contain viruses) and the numbers you receive usually peak and then drop off to nothing after a short while.

The annoying thing is that it may not even be your PC infected, but someone else's that has your e-mail address!!
I had the same problem, and was geting really worried, but fortunately it is easy to resolve: go to your web hoster website (do you have a web forwarding service, or a web site? that was where mine was coming from) What happens is that spammers hijack all the addresses that are appropriate to you, ie sales@jobloggs, accounts@jobloggs, whereas you probably only use info@. Your hoster will have a section where you can refuse all other permutations of your email address, except the ones you specify. It worked for me, no more emails. I was getting hundreds a day, and those were just the ones that were bounced back.
