I have recently started to receive a few junk mails that come up in the 'from' column as coming from my Orange address. How can this be possible and is there anything I can do about it? Is there any risk attached to this happening? I hasten to add that I delete them without opening them.

it's spam but it's strange.. it happens to me too! spammers can make it look like their mail comes from anywhere. you're right not to open it, and you can set filters to send them to your junk mail.. but you can't stop it happening.

at one stage I was receiving about 10-20 a day, which looked like I'd sent them :o/
Anyone can make an email appear as though it's from anyone else at all and is by no means a secure form of communication.

Spammers make it look like it's from yourself so it bypasses any email filters which block say, addresses you don't know.

At least it's not just me then!

Thanks for your replies and I'm very aware of it not being a secure form of communication...I sometimes think that the only safe way is to talk face to face!
