connecting my laptop to my tv in order to watch dvds

Hey!
Just wondering if anyone with a little more knowledge than me knows how to connect a laptop to a tv so that I can put dvds in my laptop and watch them on the tv rather than having to bring my portable dvd player everywhere with me!

You Need To purchase a decent graphics card with a tv/dvi out. Leads are inclusive normally so just connect up and put your tv to AV and should work.
