I just upgraded an HP Pavillion from windows 98 to 2000. Everything works great except for the sound card/ modem combo card. It's a PCI card. None of the drivers on HPs website seem to work on it. I REALLY need help. Can anyone tell me what driver to use?

I am surprised you can't find the drivers on the exhastive HP site. The thing that makes searching for them easier is knowing the "product number" details of which are found here: http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/famiNumbDocument.jhtm

failing that you need to know the "model number". I did a search for HP Pavillion drivers which yeilded 2555 results; see http://productfinder.support.hp.com/tps/ProductFin

Modem drivers are very fussy and with the wrong driver in Windows 2000 the device manager looks OK but the modem simply doesn't work. A note about sound card drivers: always use the WDM drivers in Windows 2000.
well, the simplest and fastest way is using a software to automatically and easily get the correct drivers. i once used Driver Detective on this site for hp drivers http://www.hp-driver.net/ , it fixed my laptop driver issue in just mintues. ;)
