anti virus

I uninstalled norton anti virus and installed that AVG one i saw on here. now battery wont work :( . any ideas what the problem is? everytime i hover over the icon its says n/a for battery power :(

I have no idea about batteries and laptops as I don't like laptops, but I do like AVG and installing AVG is nothing to do with your battery problem I'm afraid. Sorry I cant be more help.

ok then. i read your name and thought of a battery and thought you might have been able to help :(
MrBen,I know this is silly question but have you got the battery fully charged,I have AVG on my Desktop and now I'm putting it on my Laptop.

yeah, its fully charged. power been on for hours and it was the night before too. its only since i uninstalled the norton and installed the avg. then again, it might be nothing to do with it.lol
Its exremely unlikely to be AVG, I've ran it for years on loads of of different laptops. Its much more likely to be something that Norton has done. Its a pain to remove once its on and I know the net is awash with tales about how it can mess up computers and eat all the resources.

Have you looked at the power settings on your laptop in the control panel ?
