How can I convert downloaded avi files into a format that will play on a normal dvd player?

first have you got a dvd burner ?
you could try ULEAD DVD MOVIE CREATOR 5 this works for me and is easy to use

had this problem myself,if you have imesh you can download vso converter and the key gen that goes with it.thats what i use and its realy easy to use.also ppl on ebay sell links to frre converters so you could try that too.

another very good programme for this is WINAVI video convertor , have found this one to be one of the quickest personally.
