My brother has got a sim only contract and he is having my old phone. When I put the sim in the phone, it wouldn't work. It turns on, but you can't send or recieve tx's or phone calls?! I got the phone on O2 and the sim card is O2 so it isn't that. So do we need to ring up and register the sim?

I have never had a sim only contact before, i have always got the phone at the same time so the people in the shop have always sorted it out for me.

If anyone knows what I need to do to get it working please explain . . . .

Thanx

Never been on O2 myself, but usual procedure is that you have to register the SIM before it will work, yes. The phone company needs your name and address. Being PAYG, no financial details should be necessary. On my Orange PAYG, you could register on the website or by phone.
