Process When Changing To Sim-Only Contract

Have just ended my rolling contract with EE in favour of BT SIM-only. The process seems pretty clear (I have my PAC code ready to retain my existing number) but I'm not sure how to save/transfer all my contacts. I'm sticking with my Samsung Galaxy which I think has some contacts saved to SIM and others to phone.

So can anyone advise me the order of events to ensure I get all my contacts transferred to the new SIM/phone - or does it matter where the contacts are saved? Hope I have explained myself adequately. Any help gratefully received. Thank you.

If you are putting your new SIM into your existing and unlocked handset then simply ensure the details are on the handset and swop the SIM over.

If you are using a brand new handset then you need instead to ensure the contacts are stored on the old SIM instead; then use that in the new unlocked handset first and copy from SIM to handset before replacing the old SIM with your new one.
