Hi there. I am clearing a space in my garden for veg growing ready for the spring and was wondering if anyone can give me arough guide as to how much space I would need for potatoes for enough for a large familiy of 7. I plan to raise both earlys and lates and store in a cool dark place in hessian sacks. Obviously, the following year, i shall rotate and grow something else on the same patch, but am trying to clear 4 patches ready for the spring for sowing and planting and then on for crop rotation. I just need a bit of a guide as to how large my potatoe patch should start out as? As you have guessed, I a potatoe novice, so any other advice most welcome! many thanks mimi

We grew spuds in a half barrel - enough for 4 of us (all season)
