Ethel,

I know what I want to do is illegal, and at the end of the day I have no real defence for copying movies, but I just want to give you my reasons for doing this.It is a shop bought DVD of childrens movie. I wanted to copy it so my 5 year old son can watch it on his DVD player in his bedroom. In the past I have given him the original disc to view, but he has a habit of scratching them, and they end unplayable.

Boobesque,
Thanks for the info, I will give #1 dvd Ripper a try.
Exactly right TEAK36, those of us with children know the sense of being able to make back ups from the rip off priced DVD's..... Shame on those who think this is wrong!!!

What you need is a small program called AnyDVD ... do a search on the web for it. Some download sites you can get it for free so do a full search and don't just opt for first site you come across.

It actually removes any protection on the disc, it will also remove all the annoying trailers etc etc. which is an added bonus!
Once done you can then un-check all the boxes and it will reverse the procedure and put the disc back to original.
