I've just moved into a new place which has a sky minidish already in place, if I buy a digibox off ebay will I be able to watch the standard terrestrial channels (BBC1, ITV etc) and free to air digital channels (BBC3, E4 etc) through the dish without having to subscribe to Sky?

You'll need a free to air card for the box which is available from sky and will be specific to the box....i have two digiboxes and my card works in one and not the other for all channels......i also believe they can charge you for it. If you phone Sky's freephone customer number they should be able to advise you.

In answer to my own question and after numerous calls to Sky yes I can, it's simply a matter of ordering a free to view card which is free of charge (I was told it was provided as part of the licence fee) and you can watch the freeview channels through a sky dish and digibox, if interested just call 0870 243 8000
