You should be able to transfer the movie to your pc, then copy to a dvd, you could even add some effects and a soundtrack while it's on there.

If you want to do it direct sorry I don't know as I don't have a stand alone dvd recorder but if you do it should just be a case of having the right cables in the right places.

If your camera is Firewire/IEEE1394/i link then it makes life easier to get video footage into the PC.
If it does not have this facility then you need a card in your PC or a device to grab the video.
Your camera may have come with software (basic) to edit your videos (Ulead for example) but failing that
Magix or Muvee make wonderful software which is fairly easy to use for making home videos.
Check out QVC the Shopping Channel, and watch their progammes on Computers where they demonstrate the video software.
I've got the HC30e and it has both USB & Firewire outs, USB streaming to the PC does work but is nowhere as good as Firewire. Windows Movie maker can capture the incoming stream and create an AVI file, your problem then is get this to DVD, there are various packages out there to do this, Nero & Roxio amongst them, or there are video editing packages that will do it as well, Pinnacle studio being the one that leaps to mind. Can't help any more as I dump all mine back to the tapes for storage.
valerian11, you haven't said if you are trying to transfer directly to a DVD recorder or if you want to do it through the computer (as others have suggested).

sorry, i should have said i was trying to do this on the pc (windows xp)
valerian11, go with sparkyharky - you need a firewire card for best results but you can also get a USB capture device which doesn't involve opening up the computer. It isn't a laptop is it?
