Do you have to go to the Ellis Island Museum when you visit the Statue of Liberty - Is it all part of the tour?

We didn't, just went to the Statue.
The ferry stops there but you don't have to get off,it is worth a look though,it is very interesting and if you don't like it get on the next ferry, Ray
When I was there last year we just went on the Staten Island Ferry (which is free). We didn't think it worth actually going to the Statue of Liberty as you can no longer go up it, and you get great views of it from the Staten Island ferry.

We did the same Spudqueen - and got better pictures for it!

You can only go up as high as her feet now

pls go to Ellis Island [ its not compulsary to stop], I went and saw the film, commentary by Gene Hackman and I cried it, if one family member was sick they had to decide themselves whether to all return or send the sick one back, it was so unfair as only steerage went through this process the 1st class just walked off the ship, it was so well done, certainly not boring, and the second time I was too late for the film but managed to get the last tour and all the tour guides are descended from people who actually landed at Ellis Island. Its definately worth a visit.
my friend says Ellis Island Museum was definately worth the visit.
