Can anyone recomend a decent video capture card? I need one which will accept an analogue signal, and encode to SVCD quality. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the 'Dazzle' cards? They're very good! They have a comparison table on their site to help out:

Bear in mind that you shouldn't spend more than �200. For this amount you can get a dedicated analogue to firewire converter box and a firewire card. This will give you perfect, digital, 768x576 broadcast resolution video.
