video/audio capture problems

i'm using windows movie maker to capture video from a mini-dv camcorder, with a s-video/composite cable going into a hauppage winTV PVR PCI II capture card. video capture is fine, but no clips have any audio. i have tried connecting same lead to tv and sound comes through fine. can anyone help?
