hey my friend has a problem. bought a really old laptop with usb 1.1 and transferring files to ipod takes absolutely ages. Do you know if you can buy an adaptor or something that would increase transfer rate? Thanks

Don't expect a greatly increased data transfer rate simpy by plugging in and using a usb 2.0 adaptor of any sort. I suspect the reason for the slow data transfer rate has more to do with the specifications and performance of the "really old laptop" mentioned than anything else..
There is a huge difference in data transfer rate between USB 1.1 and 2.0. The speed of the laptop will be able to handle it fine, even if it is 'really old'.

USB 1.1 = 12Mbps
USB 2.0 = 480Mbps
