Okay conspiracy fans; How come, bearing in mind we got 10,000,000 (Ten million) web users in UK, How come AB, who have been plugged on National radio and t..v. only have a broad userbase of a few hunred? 100,000 would still be a small number compared to the traffic of say Guardian Unlimited Notes and Queries (a very similar site to this but more moderated) This place should be Packed.

this site had a really chilled atmosphere untill last week, then it started going down hill and has got worse from there. i imagine most people find the site view it a couple of times then decided to post a q/a. if i had just found this site and read what has been posted lately, i doubt if i would ever return.

I found this site by accident and would consider myself to be a regular user, however I have never heard it plugged anywhere

I heard it on Steve wright show; I could be mistaken about tv and meant BBC
I agree with snotmonkey::: lately there's just been too much personal banter - 'complaint against so and so', 'meeting at conventions' etc. that this site has lost its original beat and purpose. I also don't see some of the best answerers like Tartanwizard, Quizmoster and Andy Hughes around. Its a shame.
In response to Beenee - but at the risk of seeming like a natterer! (see * below) - I haven't seen much of Andy lately, but Tartan and I are still about - and often still disagreeing! (In a friendly way.) I agree with Beenee, though, that the site did seem to be transforming into a chat-room rather than a simple 'Q & A' forum. I'm glad to see that seems to have been corrected. If people just want to * natter, let them try to work out a method of swapping e-mail addresses.

In answer to the actual question, I had certainly never heard this site being 'plugged' and came upon it merely by chance when Ask Jeeves closed down its AnswerPoint site in June. Clearly, many thousands more are still unaware of its existence. Perhaps they'll get here in the end.

(Thanks for the kind comment, Bee.)

the friendly banter and chat is what gives this site a real community feel and thats half of the appeal. however last week the banter seemed to be replaced by straight out attacks and sniping.
