I am selling a phone on ebay, plan to get around 10 for it. Today I got an email from someone saying they would like to buy it for 190 for their girlfriend in nigeria. I assume this is a scam can someone fill me in on it?

This is a well known scam on eBay and has been discussed many times on the eBay community boards.

If you think it is a scam tell them to give you 190 personaly and they can have it!
Apart from the above, if your phone is advertised on ebay, report it to them.

Basically they say they will "overpay" if you send another person a cheque for 180.

They send you a cheque for 190, you send the cheque for 180, then they CANCEL the cheque for 190, leaving you out of pocket.
