I don't.

Many men must be in the same position - afraid to go to the police in case they are not believed.

For men it is more than not believed.  As seen here it is common for the woman to turn the tables and acuse the man - and plod to believe the woman.

In addition, with men, there is the problem of not wanting to appear weak.

Probably because the max is 5 years and she pleaded guilty so would get a discount for a guilty plea.  The other convictions will be sentenced concurrently.

Read this story this morning - just horrific, and her with such a high powered career she must have thought nobody would believe him. Poor poor man. Am definitely going to watch the full story when it is shown on TV.

Is it going to be shown on TV?  I won't be watching - not my idea of entertainment.  I've read the news reports and that is all I need to know.

I have absolutely no idea - this was a legislative decision.  My personal view is that this type of offence can often be more serious than physical injury and can have really long-lasting and devastating consequences.

Some say concurrent needs to be replaced with consecutive.
