I would like to watch a certain movie - perhaps an old one.  Go onto YOUTUBE and ask for one of the old timers.  But it just comes up - something like premium - ie about 3 minutes.

Where can i go if I want to watch one of the old movies - NO - not Netflix - - thanks for any answers

which movie?

I would imagine you also need subtitles, which makes it a bit more tricky with old movies.

Now you know why maybe kids/ young people are on their phone/ computer/ laptop, learning how to navigate the teccy stuff. Its all going to be part of their future working life. :0)

If you've got a DVD player that might be the better option.

Name that movie

Pluto TV

Freevee

Dailymotion

If you've got a smart tv or device that tyrns your tv into a smart tv, then there are various apps that might help.

Here's one

i love jack lemon and walther mauthe

they aren't on iplayer, they are on youtube.

You go on youtube and search for THE TITLE OF THE FILM YOU WANT TO WATCH.

With YouTube, you need to remember that (unless you pay £12.99 per month to subscribe to YouTube Premium) any long video you watch will have adverts inserted into it by YouTube.  Unlike ads on the telly, they don't come at a convenient break in the action; they just appear randomly (usually when you've just got to a really interesting bit in the video).

However, if you're prepared to put up with those ads, there are some recommendations for full-length movies here:

Jenny ...   do you want The Odd Couple or Grumpy Old Men or one of the sequels to those two films?

BBC iPlayer has some great classic movies, such as 'Passport to Pimlico':

Best ever Walter Matthau film must be Charley Varrick. Brilliant stuff from him.

The problem with seeking any specific movie is that (paid) streaming services pay vast amounts of money to hold the rights to particular movies.

For example, Amazon Prime Video will have forked out a not inconsiderable sum to be able to stream 'The Odd Couple', with Apple TV also having paid for such rights.  They'd be extremely quick to take legal action against anyone trying to stream it for free, so it's extremely unlikely that you'll be able to access it without having to pay to watch it.

The Notorius Landlady (with Jack Lemmon) 1962

Try Talkiing Pictures TV, which is Channel 82 on Freeview.  They show nothing but old films, some of them delightfully obscure and which would never be seen on usual channels - most of them British.

It also shows old British TV series like Rumpole of the Bailey and Danger UXB

21.58 didn't mean to have caps lock on, didn't realise until posted.

Have you tried Talking Pictures jj ?  On mainstream TV - channel 82 on mine.  Subtitled and wide range of old movies.

Sorry brainiac  - I didn't see that you had already mentioned Talktalk Pictures  x
